STATE TIMES NEWS SRINAGAR: Real Kashmir FC (R) and J&K Bank registered win in the ongoing first edition of Professional League 2021 played at Synthetic Turf, TRC here on Thursday. In the first match, Real Kashmir FC (R) beat Downtown Hero’s FC. Right from the start of the match Real Kashmir FC tried to take the control of the game by displaying quality football and their moves were repulsed by the defenders of Downtown Hero’s FC. In the 6th minute , Basit of RKFC scored a splendid goal and it was followed by a penalty kick in favour of RKFC and Basit of RKFC doubled the lead by scoring another goal. Half time score was 2:0 in favour of RKFC. After the breather, Downtown Hero’s FC came into action and virtualy dominated the field which resulted in awarding a penalty kick in their favour for rough tackling in the penalty area. Tafeem Tariq of Downtown Hero’s FC made no mistake in converting the penalty into a goal. This boosted the morale of Downtown Hero’s FC and continuously attacked the RKFC goal. RKFC in the counter attack also missed some good chances. At the end RKFC defeated Downtown Hero’s FC by two goals to one. Musaib of RKFC awarded as the Man of the Match. The second march was played between J&K Bank XI and Lonestar KFC (LKFC). LKFC was offensive right from the start of the match and they missed two to three one to one sure short chances. The challenge was well taken by J&K Bank XI and they succeeded in converting a cross into the goal in 25th minute through Aakif. In the 40th minute, LKFC once again missed an open net goal. The first half ended with the score of 1:0 in favour of J&K Bank XI. In the second half, LKFC dominated the show and went on attacking spree trying to level the score but had to face tough opposition from J&K Bank defenders. J&K Bank also tried to double the lead but could not succeed. Though J&K Bank took the lead yet the technical play and the offensive football was applauded by the spectators. J&K Bank is the only team who has not lost any match till date and had maintained the position at the top of the table. The match ended with J&K Bank defeating LKFC by a solitary goal. Inaam was declared as Man of the Match. The Tournament is being organized by J&K Football Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
