JAMMU: On the first day of his tour of Poonch District, Jammu and Kashmir BJP Vice-President & District Prabhari, S. Varinderjeet Singh, held meeting with teams of Pradhamantri Gareeb Kalyan Yojna and National Health Volunteers campaign. Party’s elected representative of Municipalities, Block Development Councils (BDCs), District Development Council (DDC) and former MLC also attended the meeting.
In this meeting, the participants were asked to reach Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority Households (PHH) ration card holders and help them in availing the benefits of Pradhanmantri Gareeb Yojna, under which poor people are provided five kilo ration free of cost every month till November this year. Varinderjeet shared with them that 80 crore people across the country are being benefitted from the yojna, out of which more than 3 lakh people are from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Varinderjeet Singh further said that BJP has also launched National Health Volunteer Campaign to train party activists as Health Volunteers to assist the health system in view of the expected 3rd wave of COVID-19.
In this regard J&K unit of BJP has been given the task to train 4000 activists as Health Volunteers and teams at National, State, District, Mandal and Booth levels have been constituted for this purpose.
He said that the teams at different levels in Jammu and Kashmir for both the programmes have been constituted and are going to be trained through workshops very soon.
Mohd Rafiq Chasht District President, Ex MLC Pardeep Sharma, District Vice-Presidents Capt Ashoke Kumar and Naresh Sharma, Councillors Harpreet Kour, Iqbal Khowaja and Javied Iqbal, Paramjeet Singh District General Secretary, Gurderp Singh Khalsa, Joyti Bala Mahila Morcha District President, Abhinandan Soodan Mandhal Pardhan Poonch, Ikhlaq Mehar IT social Media District Incharge, Gulcharan Singh, Ravinder Batta, Nishue Sharma, Shabir Rathore Rular Mandal Pardhan, Mohd Sharief Mandhal Pardhan loran and Sunil Sharma Naib Sarpanch were present in the meeting.
