JAMMU/LEH: Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday recorded 142 new positive cases of novel Corona, 59 from the Jammu division and 83 from the Valley, thus taking the tally in the Union Territory to 322428.
Moreover, 136 more COVID patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 49 from Jammu Division and 87 from Kashmir Division.
Besides this, 99.56 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials said that no new case of Mucormycosis has been reported and thus the confirmed cases remain 37 in the UT.
According to the daily Media Bulletin, out of 322428 positive cases, 1410 are Active Positive, 316632 have recovered and 4386 have died; 2148 in Jammu division and 2238 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 12133916 test results available, 11811488 samples have been tested as negative till today.
Till date 2948372 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 7768 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 1410 in isolation and 358055 in home surveillance. Besides, 2576753 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Meanwhile, Ladakh has recorded nine fresh COVID cases, taking its overall tally to 20,378, while the count of active cases in the union territory is at 65, officials said on Saturday.
Ladakh has registered 207 Covid-related deaths — 149 in Leh and 58 in Kargil — since the outbreak of the pandemic last year. As many as 20,106 patients have recovered till date. The officials said nearly 5,000 people were tested for COVID-19 in the twin districts on Friday, and seven of them tested positive for the infection in Kargil and two in Leh.
After the detection of the new cases, Leh accounted for a total of 16,814 infections, while the tally in Kargil has gone up to 3,564.
Five more patients were discharged in Leh and one in Kargil, the officials said, adding that there are now 54 active cases in Leh and 11 in Kargil.
