Seeks early regularisation of daily wagers

NEW DELHI: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta on Thursday called on Union MoS Pankaj Choudhary and discussed various issues which the people are confronting in J&K.
Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma and Mayor Jammu Chander Mohan Gupta also accompanied Kavinder during the meeting with the Central Minister.
At the outset, Kavinder briefed the Union Minister about the latest scenario of the UT of J&K especially with regard to the long pending issue of daily wagers, opening of investment avenues in UT including the new film policy which has a bright scope in giving impetus to the economy.
The former Deputy Chief Minister laid stress on early resolution of daily wagers issue as the same needs to be addressed on priority because the stakeholders are suffering for quite some time now.
He batted for a swift decision in the favour of daily wagers claiming that their issue is genuine and long pending. Another significant issue which came up for discussion was materializing the big investments in J&K which can give a boost to the economy and will also help in generating jobs which are of utmost importance in curbing the rising unemployment graph.
Kavinder said that all the bottlenecks have been removed after the abrogation of Article 370 therefore the government should take proactive steps in the direction to invite big investors in the UT to transform the development profile of the region in a bigger way thus providing vistas of opportunities to people to flourish and ensure good fortune.
“A new dawn has ushered in J&K wherein peace and prosperity are the prime constituents therefore it is time to take measures as soon as possible to propel the economy in a bigger way and ensure development as never before”, he said, adding that new film policy of UT can play a significant role in inviting big investors to UT besides creating new avenues for jobs and related businesses.
Jugal Kishore and Chader Mohan Gupta also highlighted issues related to the UT.
After threadbare discussion, the Union Minister gave a very positive response and assured to take up the aforesaid issues on priority.
He said that the meeting remained quite fruitful as the visiting delegation has given a comprehensive idea of the burning issues of the UT and also the possible solutions.
