Bhadarwah: Ahead of 75th Independence Day celebrations, security forces busted a terrorist hideout at Tanta Forests of Kahara Tehsil in Doda district and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from a underground dump on Friday evening, Police said. Acting on a specific information, Joint teams of Army, SOG and SSB launched a CASO in the Tanta Forests of Tehsil Kahara in Doda district since early morning and seized a cache of arms and ammunition. While confirming the recovery, Incharge SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom said that on a specific information from a reliable source, a joint team of Army’s Rashtriya Rifles, SOG and SSB busted an under ground terrorist hideout in Tanta Forest today evening and recovered war like stores, including weapon, other arms and ammunition, beside some documents.
“The recovery seems to be an old dump of terrorists and was possible only due to the accurate intelligence developed by Army and launching of well-synchronized joint operation in the forest area,” Incharge SSP added. The recovery includes Pistol 1, Rifle 12 bore 1, Desi Katta 2, Grenades 5, UBGL ROUNDS 8, Pika rounds ( being counted ), Ak -47 Rounds ( being counted), Pistol rounds 2, Detonators ( being counted), Pistol magazine 1, Ak 47 magazine 5, Binocular with cover 1, Handheld Transmitter/ Chipset 1, Black cloth patka 1, Khaki pouches 1 and Some papers/ documents ( being checked).
