SURANKOTE: Police on Tuesday nabbed a trucker and recovered 26 Challis of Charas from his possession.
As per details, on the directions of SSP Poonch Vinod Kumar, a police party of Poshana Check Post led by Maroof Ahmed Incharge Police Post Poshana under supervision of DySP Surankote Khaliq Choudhary and under close supervision of Addl SP Poonch Liaqat Choudhary laid a Naka at Poshana area of Surankote to conduct checking of vehicles along historic Mughal Road.
During checking, a truck (JK18A 7181) which was on its way from Kashmir towards Rajouri was signaled to stop and during search, 5 plastic bags filled with 26 Challis of Charas like substance weighing about 630 gm was recovered. The accused driver was arrested and FIR No 299/2021 under sections 8/20 of NDPS Act was registered against him at Police Station Surankote.
