STATE TIMES NEWS BHADARWAH: Yom-e-Aashura, the 10th day of Muharram, was observed with simplicity in across Chenab Valley on Thursday as authorities imposed restrictions on processions. In Ramban, People including Muslims and Hindus of Chanderkote area assembled at Imaambada Chanderkote, where a function was organized by Anjuman-e-Imaamia Chanderkote to observe the Yom-e-Ashura,while following all SOPs and Guidelines issued by Government and administration to contain further spread of Coronavirus. Religious leaders threw light on the life of Hazrat Imam Hussain and urged upon the gathering to follow the teachings of Imam Hussain. They also observed special prayers for the betterment of society. They seek blessings for whole humanity. They prayed for well-being, brotherhood and communal harmony. The day is observed as a symbol of sacrifice and mourning, recalling the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), in the battle of Karbala on the 10th of Muharram, 1353 years ago. The first month of the Islamic calendar, Muharram 2021 started on August 10, 2021. Today is the Tenth day of Muharram known as the Day of Ashura. Elaborate security arrangements were made to avoid any untoward incident and Law enforcement agencies, including police and other forces were deployed in large numbers. ASP Ramban Rajni Sharma and Raju Singh congress leaderalso participated in the function. Medical teams were also present on the occasion. At Bhadarwah, People of Bhadarwah also celebrated Yome-Aashura with religious fervour, while distributing several things including Kheer, Halwa, Sharbat etc. Dar Family of Kotli Bhadarwah under the supervision of Khawaja Jamal Din Dar observed the day with distribution of Shahi Kheer. Doda, Kishtwar, Batote, Gandoh and other area also observed Yom-e-Ashura.
