JAMMU, Aug 27: Keeping in view the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, J&K Dharmarth Trust has decided not to take out Sobha Yatra on Shri Krishna Janmashtami this year.
In a handout Trust president, Ajay Gandotra stated, to keep the traditions, the Trust management has decided to take out a symbolic Sobha Yatra within temple complex on August 29, 2021 at 5 PM.
Meanwhile, the Trust has completed preparations to celebrate Shri Krishna Janmashtami with religious fervour here at Shri Raghunathji Temple and the Trust president reviewed arrangements made ahead of the festival.
He said that Trust management has ensured that strict compliance of COVID-19 SOPs will be ensured throughout the celebrations.
Gandotra said that after one year the Trust has decided to celebrate Janmashtami with traditional fervour because last year the same was done as a low key affair due to COVID-19 pandemic.
He further said that risk of COVID-19 still persists but this time a proper mechanism has been devised by the Trust to ensure that COVID Appropriate Behaviour is followed.
The Trust president appealed Director Tourism to install a LED screen outside the temple complex so that the commuters and local traders may get glimpse of celebrations going on inside the temple complex.
