Srinagar, Sept 17: Moazzam Rashid, Haider Hussain, Inayat Jehangir and Asif Nowsheri qualified for the semifinal of the ongoing Srinagar Open Tennis Championship being played at Gindun Sports Complex here today .
All the players won their matches in Straight sets with Moazzam (vs Rouf Mir) , Asif (vsTahafuzIlahi) and Inayat (Jamil Mir) beating their opponents bu identical scoreline of 6-0, 6-2. Haider beat Mudasir by 6-3, 6-1.
The singles semifinals will be played tomorrow at 3.30 pm while the final of the tournament, organised By District Lawn Tennis Association Srinagar, is scheduled to be played on Sunday.
In the double’s event, the pair of Moazzan-Haider will take on Jamil-Tahafuz for a place in the Final on Sunday.
In the other semifinal, TufailBhat and Inayat will take on Danish and Wahab.
Sixty round robin matches were played in both singles and doubles events with two top teams or players qualifying for the knock out stages.
