AKHNOOR: Outplaying Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor in a thriller by a just one run margin in the clash, Sunderbani Cricket Club lifted the trophy of the Under-14 Diwali Cup thirty overs match organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor under the supervision of Sham Singh Langeh (President Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor) at Country Cricket Stadium Gharota, here.
Earlier batting first after winning the toss, Sunderbani Cricket Club scored a mammoth total of 144 runs in the stipulated 30 overs, losing nine wickets in the process. Naman was the top scorer with 20 runs while Vinayak contributed valuable 17 runs. Piyush and Krishna also contributed 11 runs each while Danish added 10 runs to the total.
For Singh Cricket Club, Ritish claimed three wickets while Surya Dev Singh got two and Arun and Raghav grabbed one wicket each.
In reply, Singh Cricket Club was bundled out for 143 runs in 29.5 overs, thus lost the match by a margin of one run.
Akash Singh top scored with 38 runs, while Arun Kumar and Vikas Sharma contributed 18 and 16 runs respectively. Aryan Sharma and Kanhaiya Verma added 13 and nine runs respectively to the total.
For Sunderbani Club, Shivam took three wickets, while Piyush and Rahul claimed two wickets each and Pranav and Ajitesh grabbed one wicket each.
Shivam Sharma was declared as the Man of the Match for his best bowling performance.
The match was officiated by Nikhil Jamwal and Arjun Kumar as Umpires and Dev Bhagel as Scorer.
Earlier, Vikrant Sharma (MD Country Cricket Stadium Gharota) inaugurated the match.
