JAMMU: Senior BJP leader and former Dy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta has overwhelmingly appreciated the steps taken by Central Government for reducing the Excise Duty on petrol and diesel and termed it as a Diwali Gift to the people of the nation. He also appreciated the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha for further reduction of taxes on petrol and diesel in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
In a statement issued to media here today, Kavinder Gupta said that taking such steps shows the government’s commitment towards people’s welfare as the reduced fuel prices will have a direct impact on bringing down the prices of all commodities.
This is ultimately going to provide immediate relief to the people across the nation. He said that the Modi led Union Govt takes due care of all the sections of the society and the commitment of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard can be very well gauged from the fact that he celebrated this Diwali with the security forces along LoC in Nowshera thus boosting their morale. He said that this was the Prime Minister’s fourth Diwali celebration in J&K thus reflecting his strong commitment towards this sensitive Union Territory as well as the personnel guarding the nation’s borders.
Meanwhile, Kavinder Gupta also celebrated this Diwali with security personnel. He said it is necessary to keep them in the best of spirits as they are the real defenders of the safety and security of the nation and its people. He also distributed sweets among the forces’ personnel who are ever ready to lay down their lives in defending the nation.
