Vishwakarma Day celebrated with religious zeal

JAMMU: The Vishwakarma Day was celebrated with religious zeal and vigour by Vishwakarma Temple Committee under the supervision of President of Committee, Ram Lal, at temple premises on Friday. On the occasion, ‘Vishwakarma Pujan’, Hawan and Bhajan Kirtan were organized which were attended by all the member of the Committee besides a number of locals.
Speaking on the occasion, Ram Lal highlighted the history and importance of Vishwakarma Day, which is as old as Diwali. He urged participants to follow the teachings of Bhagwan Vishwakarma, who is also known as creator of world. He further reiterated the long pending demand of committee regarding declaration of a ‘Gazetted’ Holiday on Vishwakarma Day and urged the Government to fulfill the same as a mark of tributes to Bhagwan Vishwakarma.
Supporting the demand for declaring a holiday on the occasion, Mahinder Lal, Working President said that a number of people associated with technical works or other works being carried out with help of different types of tools and machines, observe an undeclared holiday on Vishwakarma Day and hoped that Government would initiate necessary measures to fulfill their long pending demand.
The celebrations culminated with a Langer for the devotees. The members of the organising team included Raman Chalotra, Ramesh Angotra, Om Kataria, Janak Raj Changotra, Rattan Lal, Joginder Angotra, Rattan Lal, Adv Amarjeet Chargotra, Vishal Angotra, Kunal Angotra, Jitender Jajua, Ashok Salgotra and Balwant Kataria.
