UDHAMPUR: Police on Saturday nabbed two vehicle lifters and recovered stolen vehicle from their possession.
As per details, based on written complaint lodged by one Pawan Kumar, son of Kartar Chand, resident of Sanasar, Tehsil Batote, Ramban that some unknown miscreants have stolen his vehicle (JK19 3606) from industrial estate area in Udhampur, FIR No. 335/21 under section 379 of IPC was registered at Police Station Udhampur and investigation started. A special team of Police Station Udhampur led by Insp Chaman Gorkha SHO Udhampur under supervision of Anwaar-Ul-Haq Addl. SP Udhampur and Sahil Mahajan DySP Hqrs. Udhampur conducted raids at different suspected locations for search of thieves as well as stolen vehicles. During the course of investigation, Udhampur Police zeroed-in some suspects and during sustained interrogation, two of them broke down and confessed their crime. The accused were identified as Rakesh Kumar alias Racku, son of Nek Ram, resident of Sallian Talab, Udhampur and Anil Sharma alias Nellu, son of Dev Raj, resident of Near Railway Station, Udhampur. On the disclosure of accused, police recovered the stolen vehicle.
