The Centre on Monday informed the Supreme Court that stubble burning contributes only 4-10% of Delhi’s pollution and that it is not the major cause of pollution in the national capital and the northern states. The apex court directed the Centre to call an emergency meeting of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and UP on Tuesday to take urgent measures about persuading farmers to stop stubble burning.
