GOOL: Under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Cell, Govt. Degree College Gool conducted a cleanliness drive at Batli spring in the vicinity of college on Tuesday. Principal Prof (Dr.) T.K Sharma laid bare the importance of local natural water resources in this water deficient area. He encouraged students to initiate more such activities as definitely it will have a spillover effect because actions speak louder than words. Convener Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Cell Professor S.A Ganai ( HOD English) and the other faculty members including Prof. Mushtaq ahmad bhat (HOD Political science), Prof. Jatinder lal (HOD Education), Prof.Zafar Hayat (HOD Arabic) were also present on the occasion. The team Head Mrs.Aisha (Lecturer in E.V.S) acquainted gathering about the devastating effects of dumping waste polythene .throwing housing drainage into these fresh water bodies and sensitized pupil about their role in preservation of ecosystem. As water pollution has become cause for different contemporary human diseases, a more proactive approach is required to deal with it. The student community enthusiastically removed a huge quantum of weeds and other impure substances from the said spring.
