JAMMU: Senior Congress leader and former Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday hit out at present Government for selling assets and resources of J&K to outsiders after abrogation of Article 370, which is not tolerable to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“People of Jammu & Kashmir were assured by the Centre Government after abrogation of Article 370 that their jobs and land will not grabbed by outsiders but all claims of the Government proved out to be fake,” said Azad, while addressing a public rally during his public outreach programme at Doda.
While addressing a massive gathering of people, Azad criticized BJP for arbitrarily revoking the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and downgrading the historic state into two Union Territories. ” During last 75 years, we never distributed development projects or other works of any department on the name of caste, religion or party affiliation,” he said, adding that in his first rally at Sopore, when he was the Chief Minister of J&K, none of the minister distributed works on name of caste, religion or party basis. “Hindus and Muslims of Jammu & Kashmir together should work for growth and development of region and fight together for early restoration of statehood and holding assembly elections in J&K,” he said, adding that Chenab valley is a place of peace and tranquility and same should be maintained at all costs.
