JAMMU: To discuss a number of issues and demands, Jammu & Kashmir Ex-Policemen League (JKEPL) District Jammu held a meeting here on Thursday, which was organised by Shamsher Bhagat General Secretary and attended by a number of members.
During the meeting, the participants held threadbare discussions on various issues/demands including appointment of Nobal Officer, Grievances Cell Redressal Forum for ensuring liaisoning among Police, Home, Finance and Accountant General J&K Jammu has to be constituted for better coordination, enhancement of Medical Allowance, removal of pay anomalies in backdrop of implementation of pay commissions, widening scope of welfare schemes and programmes, participation in national functions and sports events, bondage between ex-police and serving personnel, reservation quota for wards of policemen in recruitment, withdrawal of security of protected persons etc.
The members further said that a membership drive has been initiated by the JKEPL in Jammu. As such, all those retirees who have not registered themselves with league can get themselves registered during ensuing meeting to be held at DPL Jammu, they added.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Makhan Lal Sharma, Karanjeet Singh, Mahinder Singh, Ved Raj Bali, T C Kundal, Daljeet Singh, Manohar Lal, Brahm Dass, Babu Ram Sharma, Purshotam Bali, Satpal, Omkar Bogal, Ashok Kumar, Dhyan Singh and Mohinder Lal.
