J&K maintains winning spree in Junior Volleyball

JAMMU: The young team of Jammu and Kashmir won their second consecutive league match when defeated Maharashtra in straight sets of 25-21, 26-24, 25-18) in the ongoing 47th Junior National Volleyball Championship at Burdwan in West Bengal.
As per a handout issued by the Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK), J&K made their first outing against Puducherry beating latter 3-0 (25-17,25-23,25-19). Manhat Chowdhary, Kanahaiya, Haroon Rashid, Musharaf Khan played superb game to help the side excel.
Placed in group-D, J&K shall take on Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar and Telangana in their remaining four league matches.
In total, 28 teams in boys and 26 in girls section are taking part in this championship.
Meanwhile, the girls team of J&K lost both their matches. In the first outing, J&K suffered 1-3 loss against Assam (14-25,25-23,19-25,12-25). In their second league match, J&K blanked by defending champion, Kerela (02-25, 08-25, 08-25).
Earlier, the J&K contingent had to face a lot of hardships to reach the venue owing to Railways disturbance in Northern India and boarded train at Saharanpur by reaching there by road.
Meanwhile, Chief Patron Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK), Raj Daluja, President, Sidharth Daluja and other office bearers congratulated the boys team and Anil Kumar (coach) and Muddasir Ahmad Dar (Manager) while wishing them better performance in subsequent matches.
