KATHUA: In Its recent action against drug dealings and to neutralise activities of drug peddlers within district, Kathua Police under overall supervision of SSP R C Kotwal on Tuesday recovered approximately 10-12 gm Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics from Chak Drab Khan area of Kathua Police Station, and arrested two women.
As per details, a police team led by Insp. O P Chib SHO Kathua under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua Shammi Kumar during patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area noticed two suspects who were roaming near Chak Drab Khan area and asked them to stop for checking.
On physical checking of Karamjeet Kour, wife of Jatinder Kumar, resident of Pandyar Tehsil Dinanagar, Punjab at present Kullian, Kathua, 5-6 gm heroin was recovered while 5-6 gm Heroin was recovered from Neha, wife of Lakhwinder Singh, resident of Rajpura Tehsil & District Jalandhar, at present Kullian, Kathua thereby making a total of approximately 10-12 gm. Both women were arrested and FIR No. 532/2021 under sections 8/21/22/ NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Kathua.
Meanwhile during Naka checking near Rajeev Nagar Naka by team of Police Post Narwal led by SHO PS Bahu Fort Inspr Nayat Ali assisted by Incharge Police Post Narwal SI Achal Rana, police rounded up a suspect who turned suspicious on seeing police Naka. On search, 17 gm heroin was recovered from the possession of suspect later identified as Laxmi, wife of Naresh, resident of Rajeev Nagar. The accused was arrested on the spot. The overall arrests and recoveries were made under supervision of SDPO City East Sajad Sarwar.
