Two arrested with opium

VIJAYPUR: Police on Tuesday arrested two narcotics smugglers and recovered 32 gm Opium (Afeem) like substance from their possession.
As per details, acting on a reliable information, a party from Police Station Vijaypur laid a surprise Naka Checking near Vishwakarma Mandir Vijaypur and signaled a vehicle (JK21F-0515) to stop which was coming from Vijaypur side.
On seeing police, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to flee away but was successfully intercepted by alert Naka Party.
During checking, approximately 32 gm Opium (Afeem) like substance was recovered, which was concealed tactfully inside the vehicle. The accused persons, identified as Sunil Kumar alias Chotu, son of Ramesh Chander, resident of Barota Camp Tehsil Ramgarh, District Samba and Dinesh Sharma, son of Krishan Chand, resident of Shaheedi Chowk, District Kathua, were arrested and FIR No. 205/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered against them at Police Station Vijaypur.
