SRINAGAR: Three Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists were killed and four security forces personnel injured during an encounter in the Pantha Chowk area of the city here on Friday, police said.
One of the slain terrorists was involved in the December 13 attack on a police bus in the nearby Zewan area.
The three ultras were killed in the encounter at Pantha Chowk on the outskirts of Srinagar city, a police official said.
In the exchange of fire, three police personnel and a CRPF personnel were also injured, the official said, adding that they were rushed to a hospital for treatment.

One held for radicalising youngsters to join terror ranks in J&K: NIA

SRINAGAR: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested one Arsalan Feroz, an operative of The Resistance Front (TRF) terror group, for allegedly being involved in radicalising and recruiting youngsters to join terror ranks, officials said on Friday.
A spokesperson of the agency said searches were conducted in Kashmir on Thursday during which Feroz, a resident of downtown Srinagar, was arrested.
The case relates to a conspiracy hatched for radicalising, motivating sand recruiting youngsters of Jammu and Kashmir to effect violent activities in the Union Territory and in other parts of the country by Sajjad Gul, Salim Rehmani alias Abu Saad and Saifullah Sajid Jutt, who are commanders of the TRF, a shadow organisation of the banned Lashker-e-Toiba terror outfit. According to the officials, Feroz, in a criminal conspiracy with these people, was recruiting individuals to carry out reconnaissance of pre-determined targets, coordinating and transporting weapons to support Lashkar and its frontal affiliate, TRF. The agency has so far arrested four accused in the case. 

Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar identified one of the slain terrorists as Suhail Ahmad Rather of proscribed terror outfit JeM.
“As revealed during yesterday’s PC, terrorist Suhail was also involved in #ZewanTerrorAttack. All terrorists involved in Zewan attack have been #neutralised,” the IGP said in a tweet.
Two terrorists involved in the Zewan attack were killed in an encounter with security forces in Anantnag on Thursday.
In a related development, joint Cordon and search operation (CASO) of security forces concluded in Kalnoo area of Dachhan of District Kishtwar in which three hideouts were busted, police said.
On a specific information, a Joint CASO was launched in the area by security forces including JKP and Army.
According to SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Bhat, “One Chinese Grenade and 120 rounds of AK47 were recovered from the busted hideouts.”
Further search for suspected persons is going on in the area, he added.
