6 areas declared micro-containment zones in Jammu

JAMMU: J&K recorded 349 fresh Corona cases, taking the tally to 3,42,768 on Thursday, while three new deaths were reported from the UT in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, six areas of Jammu City have been declared as micro containment zones.
In an order, the District Magistrate Anshul Garg declared Lane Near H.No 100, Sector 4, Roop Nagar and Lane No 2, near Sector 2, Shant Nagar, Janipur; Lane Near H No 27, Sector 2, Trikuta Nagar Extension, Lane No 7, Channi Himmat, Lane near H No 47, Sector 6 Trikuta Nagar; and area in and around J&K Bank, Amphalla, as micro-containment zones.
“There is sufficient ground for proceeding under Section 144 of CrPC for immediate prevention or speedy remedy is desirable to prevent danger to human life, health, and safety,” reads the order of the DM Jammu.
Out of the fresh cases, 202 were from the Jammu division and 147 from the Kashmir division, they said.
Jammu district recorded a maximum of 119 cases followed by 80 cases in Srinagar district.
There are 2,049 active cases in the Union Territory, while the number of recovered patients was 3,36,186, the officials said.
The death toll due to the virus was 4,533 as three fresh fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the officials said there were 51 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in the Union Territory as no fresh case was reported since Wednesday evening.
