Covid hospitalisation in Karnataka during the peak of the second wave stood at 21%, much more than the corresponding figure for the first wave (16%). In the third wave, 5% of the infected persons have required admission so far, shows an analysis by the health and family welfare department. The highest number of active cases during the second wave was recorded on May 15, 2021 (over 6 lakh).
