JAMMU: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday trapped and arrested Gh Hassan, a Junior Engineer of Rural Development Department (RDD), Block Tregham, District Kupwara for accepting a bribe of 8,000 red handed for preparing bills during a trap.
“A complaint was received alleging therein that Gh Hassan, Junior Engineer of Rural Development Department, Block Tregham, District Kupwara is demanding bribe of Rs 8000 for preparing Bill for the work executed by complainant under MGNREGA,” official spokesperson ACB said here today.
“The complainant alleged that the accused Junior Engineer (JE) was adopting delaying tactics and not preparing bill for the work executed by complainant under MGNREGA & 14th FC at village Kunanposhpura, Block Tregham, District Kupwara and the aforesaid Junior Engineer was demanding bribe of Rs 8000 from complainant as his commission,” spokesperson added.
“Upon receiving the instant complaint prima facie offence under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 was found made out and a case FIR No. 06/2022 was registered at Police Station ACB Baramulla,” spokesperson said adding that a trap team was constituted.
The trap team, spokesperson said, caught Gh Hassan Junior Engineer of Rural Development Department, Block Trehgam, District Kupwara red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 8000 from the complainant.
“Gh Hassan was arrested and taken into custody by ACB Team and the bribe money was also recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses,” spokesperson said adding that further investigations of the case is going on.
