Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 36 new Covid cases on Wednesday that took the infection tally to 4,53,088, officials said.
No Covid-related fatality was reported in the past 24 hours, they said, adding that the death toll stands at 4,748.
Of the fresh cases, 18 were from the Jammu division and the rest from Kashmir division, officials said.
Srinagar district recorded the highest 13 cases followed by 11 in Jammu district.
There are 527 active cases while the overall recoveries has reached 4,47,813, officials said. There were 51 confirmed cases of Mucormycosis (black fungus) in the Union Territory. No fresh case was reported since last evening, officials added.
Meanwhile, Ladakh has reported 29 fresh Covid cases that took the infection tally to 28,045, officials said.
The number of active cases stands at 144, they said.
The Union Territory has recorded 228 Covid-related deaths — 168 in Leh and 60 in Kargil, they said, adding no death was reported on Tuesday.
As many as 35 patients — 32 in Leh and three in Kargil — were cured and discharged from hospitals, taking the overall recoveries to 27,673, they said.
All the new cases were reported from Leh district, officials said.
A total of 623 sample reports were found negative in Ladakh, they said.
All the 144 active cases are from Leh district, they added.
