JAMMU: Union Health Secretary, Rajesh Bhushan visited the Camp Office of AIIMS Jammu located at GMC Doctor’s Guest House, Maheshpura Chowk, Jammu, where MoUs were signed between AIIMS Jammu and two other prestigious Institutes including University of Alabama, Birmingham USA & Himalayan Research Institute for Yoga & Naturopathy, (KAYAKALP), Palampur, Himachal Pradesh.
While addressing gathering, Prof (Dr) Shakti Kumar Gupta said it is a landmark day to herald a new dawn of synergism of knowledge between two contemporary systems of Medicine. He said that signing of MoU between Himalayan Research Institute for Yoga and Naturopathy in name of KAYAKALP at Palampur, Distt. Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, an ISO 9001:2015 institute & AIIMS Jammu shall go a long way in synergizing two systems of medicine to carryout joint research, bring new ideas and innovations. He further said that signing of MoU with University of Alabama, USA will help us to surge forward in technological field of AI, Machine learning, Augmented & Virtual reality in healthcare.
President AIIMS, Jammu Prof (Dr) Y K Gupta, while addressing dignitaries and faculty members, expressed that signing of MoUs is just a beginning and an indication that we are planning to do something good in a right direction.
Secretary Health, in his interaction with dignitaries, expressed gratitude to all and re-emphasized need and role of promotive and preventive healthcare in present world and outrightly said that our efforts should be directed from promotive healthcare to wellness to well-being.
