NOWSHERA: Kalal based Rashtriya Rifles under the aegis of Rashtriya Rifles sector HQ at Reasi organised an interactive session with ESMs/ Veer Naris at Govt Higher Secondary School, Lamberi in which veterans residing in the Battalion Area of Responsibility participated. Interaction was organised with the aim of discussing the issues of employment opportunities, problems faced by veterans and their dependents and women empowerment. In an endeavour to forge closer ties with the veterans, it focused on social and developmental issues to bring backward areas of the region at par with developed regions of the state. The meeting gave an informal platform to the veterans to share their experiences related to development programmes. The grievance of the veterans were recorded accordingly for the solution. The attendees were informed regarding various welfare schemes launched by the government for the benefit of ESMs for skill development, job training and incentives for setup of small scale industries to the veterans. Officials from the Army emphasised the importance of harmony in the process of development and invited all cross sections of the society towards the positive contribution in this direction to strengthen the bond of harmony.
