JAMMU: Rudra Kavia and Rudradaman Mertia, both from Rajasthan and Mayukh Majumdar of West Bengal along with eight others were leading in open section at three points each 34th MPL National U-10 Chess Championship at Kangra Fort banquet, Barnai in the outskirts, here on Wednesday.
Similarly, Maitreyi Mondal of West Bengal, Anaya Agarwal of Telangana, Hanya Shah of Gujarat along with five others, securing at 3 points each, were leading after round three. MPL Sports foundation and Hob Space are supporting AICF for children events.
Total 11 rounds will be played under Swiss system and the event carries a prize Fund of Rs.five Lacs which will be distributed among top 15 from each category The event is a direct selection for World, Asian and Commonwealth events. Crown Trust is organizing this event under the banner of All J&K Chess Association with the support of J&K Sports Council. Dr. A S Bhatia, HOD Bio Sciences GMC Jammu, Raj Kumar, Chief Prosecution Officer, Baldev Raj, vice president AJKCA, Ajit Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Arvindu districts association members and Advocate Himani Kohli were among others who witnessed today’s competition.
