Stubble burning: Delhi braces for winter pollution as farmers say ‘no’ to bio-decomposer use

After the Centre declined to contribute to the plan of Delhi and Punjab governments to incentivise farmers with Rs 2,500 per acre for not burning stubble, winter in the capital this year may not turn out to be any better than the previous ones. Farmers are less enthusiastic about the ‘Pusa decomposer’ as it takes 30 days or more to work when there is only a very small window between the rice harvest and the sowing of the wheat crop.
