A week after his Karnataka counterpart met agitating villagers of Jat near the interstate border and assured them of his support in addressing water shortage problems, chief minister Eknath Shinde told a delegation of elected representatives that Rs 2,000 crore will be provided for expansion of the Mhaisala lift irrigation scheme to assuage concerns in the border region which lies in Maharashtra.
