Divisions in the Veearashaiva-Lingayat community over the issue of separate religion status appeared to widen with a section of the community distancing itself from a convention organised by Akhila Bharatha VeerashaivaLingayat Mahasabha (ABVLM) and planning parallel programmes instead.
