Jammu/SRINAGAR: Democratic Azad Party (DAP) chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad on Sunday said the sacrifices made by personnel of the army and other paramilitary forces have kept the country’s integrity intact.
He said the entire population of the country is having peaceful sleep at night only due to the untiring and uncompromising security provided by these men who sometimes have paid with their lives.
“We are today proud of our country since it has not only grown as economic power but also won almost all wars fought against enemies since 1947. This makes us feel great and proud as citizens of India,” he said in Samba where he took part in a “Vishnu Mahayagya”.
“The sacrifices made by our army personnel and other paramilitary forces have kept the integrity of our country intact. They have been selfless when it comes to fighting terrorism and guarding borders from our enemies,” Azad said.
Meanwhile, In a major boost to Democratic Progressive Azad Party, a prominent leader from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) along with hundreds of his workers joined the party on Sunday.
Ghulam Nabi Bhat Zonal President Eidgah joined the DAP in presence of Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad at Srinagar and said that he was impressed with the vision and leadership qualities of party chief Ghulam Nabi Azad.
He said DAP is the only party that envisages vision and direction to lead Jammu and Kashmir in the right direction and overcome the prevailing political chaos on ground.
He said that DAP was the only party with a pro people agenda and had been agitating across the regions against land eviction order by the government.
The party chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad welcomed Palapori and said his joining will give a boost to DAP at ground level since he enjoys a good reputation among the masses. On this occasion, other leaders garlanded Palapori and welcomed him into the party fold.
