JAMMU: Janipur police on Saturday foiled a bovine smuggling attempt by seizing a bovines-laden vehicle, however smugglers escaped from the spot. These were the same smugglers who attacked the Police Team in Sarwal area a few days back.
According to the information, Janipur police led by SHO Insp Vijay Kumar signalled a vehicle during Naka, but on seeing police, smugglers speeded it up and jumped the Naka. Alert cops chased the vehicle and stopped the vehicle at a short distance, however smugglers fled from the spot. Police seized the vehicle.
