Having fielded 62 of its candidates from the influential Lingayat community, BJP poll managers in Karnataka are set to focus on how the party has reciprocated the community’s consistent support while pointing to the ‘neglect’ by principal opposition Congress, which has not elevated any Lingayat leader to the CM’s chair since the removal of Veerendra Patil in 1990.
