The Navy’s stealth guided missile destroyer INS Chennai closely followed the hijacked Liberian-flagged vessel MV Lila Norfolk in the Arabian Sea. INS Chennai reached the Somalia coast and launched a ‘sanitisation operation’ with the help of Marine Commandos. The warship issued warnings to the pirates and the crew members of MV Lila Norfolk, which was hijacked near Somalia’s coast. The crew members are operating the vessel from their strongroom. The situation is being closely monitored by the Navy and international partners.
