President Droupadi Murmu designated Narendra Modi as the prime minister-elect, paving the path for his inauguration on Sunday as the leader of a coalition headed by the BJP. The President delivered the letter of appointment following BJP chief J P Nadda’s submission of letters of endorsement from NDA parties, totaling 293 members in the Lok Sabha.
