HGS Jammu celebrates Annual Sports Day

JAMMU, Nov 1: Hermann Gmeiner School (HGS) Jammu celebrated its Annual Sports Day with immense zeal, highlighting the athletic talents of its students. The event was graced by Vinakshi Koul, Joint Director, Youth Services & Sports, as chief guest and Harvinder Kour, Zonal Physical Education Officer, Jammu, as guest of honour. Both dignitaries were felicitated by the Principal, Shakun Choudhary.
The celebration began with the lighting of the ceremonial torch, followed by a vibrant Saraswati Vandana dance, a well-coordinated March Past by council members and NCC cadets, and a performance by the School Girls Pipe Band.
Students competed enthusiastically in events including 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m Races, Relay Race, Hurdle Race, Bag Pack Race, Aerobics, Rhythmic Yoga, and 400m Cyclothon. Outstanding performers included Ananya Sharma, Aarav Singh, Meera Raina, Aryan Choudhary, Kavya Gupta, Vihaan Khajuria, Tanya Sharma, Aditya Sharma, Sanya Choudhary and Raghav Gupta, who were awarded medals and certificates by the chief guest.
In her address, the chief guest highlighted the importance of sports in building discipline, resilience, and character, while Principal Choudhary encouraged students to maintain fitness and pursue excellence.
