MET Thannamandi celebrates 50th Foundation Day

RAJOURI, Nov 1: Muslim Educational Trust (MET) Baba Ghulam Shah Academy, Thannamandi, Rajouri, celebrated its 50th Foundation Day with great fervour and gaiety. The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including DC Rajouri Abhishek Sharma, President, Private Schools Association J&K, Dr. War and CEO Rajouri.
A galaxy of intellectuals from the Pir Panjal region also attended the celebration, making the occasion truly memorable. Speaking on the occasion, DC Rajouri described the event as historic, highlighting the institution’s remarkable contribution to the educational landscape of the region.
The students of the academy presented a colourful and meaningful cultural programme, which was widely appreciated by the audience. Later, meritorious students were felicitated with prizes by the chief guest.
A special highlight of the celebration was the participation of two distinguished alumni of the institution-Tahir Khurshid Raina, Principal District & Sessions Judge and Dr. Nagina Anjum, Block Medical Officer. Both were among the first batch of students enrolled on the inaugural day of the academy, November 1, 1976. All the participants across the Pir Panjal region lauded the glaring and legendary role of the founder-patron of the institution, Khurshid Ahmed Bismel.
