JAMMU, Nov 2: The Finance Department of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has instructed all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) and Pension Sanctioning Authorities (PSAs) to strictly adhere to prescribed procedures while forwarding pension cases to ensure timely settlement and prevent avoidable delays.
The Department observed that several cases received by the office of the Principal Accountant General (PAG) J&K, contained discrepancies and deficiencies, resulting in delays in issuing Pension Payment Orders and related benefits.
Highlighting key problem areas, the Department pointed out that forms are often uploaded in incorrect fields on the Pension Suvidha Portal. Officers have been asked to ensure correct uploading of relevant forms to maintain accuracy and avoid confusion during verification.
Frequent mismatches in the names of pensioners or family pensioners with those recorded in the Service Book have also been reported. The DDOs and PSAs have been directed to verify and ensure that the names match exactly before submission.
Another concern raised is the poor quality of scanned documents uploaded on the portal. The Department stressed that all documents must be clearly scanned and readable, cautioning that blurred or faint images will not be accepted and such cases will be returned for correction.
It was further noted that specimen signatures or thumb impressions of family pensioners are missing in some cases. Officers have been advised to ensure these are properly obtained and attached before submission.
The Finance Department has urged all concerned to exercise due diligence and strict compliance with these instructions before forwarding cases to the PAG office. Any case found incomplete or deficient will be returned without processing, causing unnecessary delays.
