KATHUA, Nov 2: The Kathua District Athletics Association organized Kathua District Athletics Championship 2025 at Government Degree College Kathua, under the aegis of the J&K Amateur Athletics Association and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council. Around 150 boys and girls from across the district participated, competing in track and field events across multiple age categories.
As per handout issued the winners were felicitated by Sharat Chander Singh, General Secretary, J&K Amateur Athletics Association, along with Sandeep Sharma, Director Physical Education, GDC Kathua; Sanjeev Singh, veteran athlete and member of Kathua District Athletics Association and other dignitaries including Rakesh Sharma alias Babbi, Ravi K Jasal, Gourav Sharma, Tushar Sharma, Monika Sharma, Diksha Jasrotia and Happy Thakur.
Gold medallists included Anchal Kumar (Open Men 100m), Jeewen Kumar (Open Men 5000m), Tarun Sharma (Open Shot Put), Sakib Ali (U-20 400m), Shivam Sharma (U-20 3000m), Arav Sharma (U-14 600m), Shakti (U-18 400m), Shokib Ali (U-20 800m) and Gokul Chand (U-16 600m), among others.
