JAMMU, Nov 6: Fulfilling their commitment to social welfare, the Federation of Trade and Industry of India (FTII), donated a wheelchair to Northern Railway.
The chair was donated under the leadership of Dr Sanjay Bansal, national president, FTII to Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM), Jammu Division, Northern Railway.
The initiative was carried out in the spirit of inclusivity and compassion to assist specially-abled passengers at the Jammu Railway Station.
The FTII team handed over the wheelchair to the Railway authorities, symbolizing FTII’s continued engagement in initiatives aimed at improving public convenience and accessibility.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sanjay Bansal emphasized that FTII has always believed in giving back to society.
He noted that while visiting the railway station, the team observed that specially-abled passengers were facing challenges due to a shortage of wheelchairs, which inspired this thoughtful contribution. “FTII stands not only for trade and industrial growth but also for social responsibility. We believe that true progress is when business and community development go hand in hand,” said Dr Bansal, highlighting the organization’s commitment to serving society beyond its economic mission.
Uchit Singhal, Senior DCM, Northern Railway, appreciated FTII’s gesture and expressed gratitude for its concern towards public welfare.
Dr Sanjay Bansal concluded by reaffirming FTII’s resolve to continue such humanitarian efforts in the future, ensuring that compassion remains a cornerstone of industrial and national progress.
Among others who were present during the event included Sanjeev Aggarwal (General Secretary, FTII), Sudhir Mittal (Secretary, FTII), Ashwini Kohli (Executive Member, FTII) and Ajay Ahuja (Finance Head, FTII).
