Anil Sharma, President All J&K Panchayat Conference: We welcomed the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hold a meeting with the mainstream leaders. It should have been done much earlier. We are hopeful that delimitation process will get pace and soon it will be completed to facilitate elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Currently the Delimitation commission is in Jammu and Kashmir and we believe that the preliminary exercise must have been carried out I do not think the views and aspirations of people of Jammu matters to the commission. It is an old tradition that national level leaders and commissions only focus on Kashmir and Jammu is always ignored. We do not think there will be any change for Jammu people.

Vijay Singh, President, All J&K Transport Welfare Association: All Party Meet was a good decision taken by PM Modi. All leaders shared their views and issues in the meeting. But it is sad that no one discussed the basic issues like burgeoning unemployment problem and continued hike in fuel prices. No job opportunities are there and nothing in this regard was discussed in the meeting. The focus remained on elections and the delimitation process. Here, the people are suffering but the Centre is not concerned about it. Everybody is interested in elections only. It is heartbreaking and we appeal to the government to take effective measures to control hikes in fuel prices and other essential commodities.
