Jammu/SRINAGAR: Continuing its drive against the menace of illegal mining, a multi-pronged strategy was devised by Jammu Police in which teams from Police Stations Gharota, Nagrota and Police Post Manwal acted stringently on the specific inputs and raided at different locations in their respective areas and seized seven different vehicles involved in illegal mining. The seized vehicles include 2 dumpers (JK02CC 9955 and PB03BD 4833), 1 dumper and 1 JCB without Registration number seized by Gharota police; a tipper (JK02CS 3771) and a tractor-trolley (JK02CF 9339) seized by Nagrota police; a dumper (JK21G 5325) seized by Manwal police. The vehicles were seized by SHO Gharota Insp Khyatimaan Khajuria, SHO Nagrota Insp Mohd Showkat and Incharge Police Post Manwal Insp Vikram Singh Jasrotia.
Meanwhile, Baramulla Police also seized 9 vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Pattan, Chandoosa & Kreeri areas of Baramulla. Officers from Police Station Pattan, Police Post Mirgund & Police Station Pattan eized nine vehicles (2 Tippers & 7 Tractors) involved in extraction and transportation of raw materials illegally extracted from Pattan & Chandoosa & Frastihar Kreeri areas of Baramulla.
