ANANTNAG: Continuing its efforts to eradicate menace of drugs, Police on Thursday arrested a drug peddler and seized huge quantity of contraband substances. As per details, Police Station Mattan received an information through reliable sources that one Mohd Shafi Najar, son of Gh Mohammad Najar, resident of Mattipora Nanil has indulged in drug peddling and has hoarded a huge quantity of contrabands in his house. Accordingly, a party headed by SHO Police station Mattan alongwith Executive Magistrate raided specific location. During search, 500 Kg Poppy Straw was recovered from house of accused. He was arrested and shifted to police station where he remained in custody. A case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Mattan and investigation started.
