JAMMU: NSS unit of Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College organized an awareness program ‘Educate them Empower them’ under the patronage of Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo and guidance of NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan as a part of special winter camp.
To promote education, notebooks, stationary like pencils, pens were distributed to the needy children by NSS volunteers.
Educating children saves lives and builds stronger families, communities and economies. Empowered, educated kids have healthier, better-educated children and higher wages -helping to break the cycle of poverty. Educate them to empower them. The right to education is a human right and indispensable for the exercise of other human rights. It is one of the most powerful tools in lifting socially excluded children and adults out of poverty and into society.
