ARNIA: FSR centre, SKUAST-J organised 4 days Training Programme for a Group of Rural Women of village Shekhpur Block Arnia of Jammu District, on Processing and Preservation of Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables into Pickles from 22-25th March 2022 under SCSP programme of AICRP- IFS, (On Farm Research) ,with technical support of Division of Food Science and Technology.
Director Research SKUAST-J, Prof. Pardeep Wali was the Chief Guest on valedictory function who emphasis on rural women empowerment through various value addition of locally available seasonal fruits & vegetables as an entrepreneurship for self sufficiency.
Dr N. P Thakur brief about the activities of Farming System Research and On Farm Research Dr. A. K. Gupta brief about the training programme and the activities related to OFR. Dr. Anju Bhatt Prof. & Head, FST explained the detail activities during the 4 days training programme under the capacity building by preparation, packaging & marketing of various local products like pickles of Mix vegetables, Anola, Jimikand, chilly, strawberry Chuteny, Apple Jam etc. Dr Jagmohan Singh, Dr Vijay Khajuria, Dr. P. Kumar, A.W Katoch, Dhreeaj Rajwal, Deepak Kumar and Dr. R.S. Bochalya ,Mohd Saleem also present during the valedictory function.
