2 bootleggers arrested with 63 bottles of illicit liquor

HIRANGARA/JAMMU: Police on Saturday arrested two bootleggers and recovered 63 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession.
As per details, a team of Police Station Hiranagar led by Insp Anil Kumar Sharma SHO Hiranagar under the supervision of SDPO Border Sachit Mahajan during patrolling/Naka checking duty in its jurisdictional area apprehended a suspicious person namely Parshotam Kumar, son of Girdhari Lal, resident of Dhalli Tehsil and District Kathua. During checking, 10 bottles of Whisky (illicit liquor) of 750 ml each were recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and FIR No 101/2021 under section 48 (F) of Excise Act was registered against him at Police Station Hiranagar.
Meanwhile, a team of Police Post Pouni Chak led by SHO Domana Insp Mahesh Sharma assisted by Incharge Police Post Pouni Chak SI Dilawar Kumar, while on patrolling duty at Patta Chungi Chowk, rounded up a suspect namely Shankar Singh, son of Kehar Singh, resident of Charkali Tehsil. During search, 53 bottles of 180 ml each of whisky were recovered from him. He was arrested and FIR No. 216/2021 under section 48-(a), Excise Act was registered against him at Police Station Domana.
