JAMMU: Veteran sports administrator of Jammu and Kashmir, Prof Ashutosh Sharma has been made member of the newly formed advisory committee of the Boxing Federation of India (BFI).
In a letter addressed to Prof Ashutosh, who is also vice president of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), general secretary of the BFI, Hemanta Kumar Kalita said, “It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that, in recognition of your contributions for the sport of boxing during these years, it has been decided to incorporate you as member of the Advisory Committee.”
Important to mention here that the advisory committee of the BFI was formed in March this year with the sole aim to see meaningful advise and suggestions from those veterans of sports in the country.
Prof Ashutosh Sharma has tall administrative experience as member Commonwealth Games 2019, vice president of Athletics Federation of India and Gymnastics Federation of India as also senior vice president of Yoga Federation of India and general secretary of Cycling Association of India.
He remained associated with women cricket and held the posts of secretary Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
