JAMMU: The government on Thursday constituted Committee to oversee the rationalization of Hierarchical Structure of Revenue Department and Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj.
“Sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of a Committee to oversee the rationalization of hierarchical structure of both Revenue Department and Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” reads an order issued by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Commissioner/Secretary, General Administration Department.
As per order the committee will be headed by Principal Secretary, Revenue department as its chairman while Principal Secretary, Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj; Commissioner Secretary, General Administration Department; Divisional commissioner, Jammu; Divisional commissioner, Kashmir; Secretary, Social Welfare Department; Director Panchayati Raj, J&K; Director Rural Department, Jammu; and Director Rural Department Kashmir will be its Members.
“The Committee shall study the old and the existing hierarchical and reporting structure of both the departments, the changes in functions assigned to both the departments over the period of time and the rationality of sudden expansion of both the departments over the last decade,” the order stated and added, “The Committee shall propose the recommended Hierarchical and Reporting Structure of both the departments.”
“The Committee shall be serviced by the Revenue Department and shall submit its report within a period of 15 days,” it added.
