JAMMU, Mar 31: In the 5th edition of the Daily World Chandigarh Marathon, Vijay Sharma from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (UT) excelled. The Marathon took place in Chandigarh on Sunday in which over 5,000 runners from all over India participated.
The race started at 4:30 am from Chandigarh Club. With a time of 3 hours and 18 minutes, the Jammu runner Vijay Sharma finished the race (42 km) and took home the bronze medal. Other runners from Jammu who participated in the event were Abhishek Gupta who finished the 42 Kilometer race in 3 hours and 28 minutes. Sudhir Anand took part as a pacer in the Half Marathon of 2 hours bus. Sudhir Anand finished the Half Marathon distance in 1 hour 59 minutes and 8 seconds and this way he helped many runners to complete their Half Marathon in Sub 2 timings. Ajay Sawhney, Tilak Raj and Ravinder Kaur also finished the Half Marathon of (21 km).
